My client is a Global Internet Company, one of the most recognizable brands in the world, generating billions in annual revenue. They are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join their high-growth APAC team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage payroll operations across Japan, India, Thailand, and the Philippines in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
THIS IS AN 8 MONTH CONTRACT ROLE INITIALLY AND SUBJECT TO EXTENSION/CONVERSION TO FULL TIME.
Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local statutory requirements.
- Collaborate with payroll vendors to ensure timely and accurate salary payments, tax filings, and social security contributions.
- Manage payroll inquiries through Zendesk and provide guidance to internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to SOX controls, payroll audits, and compliance standards.
- Drive process improvements and participate in payroll system implementations or vendor transitions.
- Maintain workflow documentation and support payroll operations projects.
Qualifications
- ✔️ 10+ years of experience in payroll operations, with a solid understanding of accounting principles.
- ✔️ Expertise in Japan and the Philippines payroll operations, including tax regulations and labor laws.
- ✔️ Proven ability to manage multiple payroll entities with diverse requirements.
- ✔️ Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Excel, and Workday.
- ✔️ Strong communication skills, high attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
- ✔️ Comfortable handling confidential data and working under tight deadlines.
